Space Mural, Broadview Church

This was the last of five murals I painted for the church. The other four were part of the new children's wing addition and covered larger wall spaces. This painting was for a remodeled older classroom and more limited wall space called for a slightly smaller mural, at 8' high by 12' wide. I went for a more whimsical look. In a nod to local wild life and our local Air Force base, the ship is piloted and passengered by common Texas animals and reptiles. The Ship sports the label of being part of the Dyess Space Command. Time was running out for the church to have the new children's addition and renovations completed so I did not attempt to embed as many objects in the painting. But, I felt the painting needed a less cluttered look for the openness of space exploration. But if you were in the room and standing verrry close to the wall, you might spot a tribute to a famous movie spaceship and battle station.
