Sea Side Mural, Broadview Church

This was the first scene I painted for the church. The full image is below. I used a sponge technique to provide the highlighting and shading to create a pastel, or chalk-like feel to the image. This painting did not have nearly as many details as the western scene or the jungle image. But I was seeking to depict a relaxing sea-side view with minimal distractions, perfect for a day of picnicking, flying kites and balloons, sailing, or reading a book.
